I miss my short time in the CF, I never got to where I wanted to because of the politics. So many regrets and so much anger.

My friend took his life a few years ago due to PTSD. This song played at his funeral, and I struggled hearing it every time. We need to keep our troops safe from their own demons. I love you brother.

About two years ago my grandfather, a man who served in the Canadian military passed away Due to COVID regulations, I wasn’t allowed to go to Edmonton for his funeral, we were gonna do it online but it just wouldn’t work All I could think of was the smiles he gave me, the jokes, the fun, everything he’d ever done for me, but I just couldn’t bring myself to cry Maybe it’s because I felt his pain had ended, he’d seen some messed up shit, he’d lost friends, he had even sustained a permanent injury during service from a grenade blast All I wanted to do was cry to let him know I cared about him and that I’d miss him, but not a single tear Maybe I’d just cried too much, my tears had run dry, with every middle finger life has given me, it wouldn’t surprise me

That was powerful.

I have never served with harder, more focused and quiet Soldiers as I have with the Canadians. They take on the task that no one wants and execute it, fight through the objective and move on without recognition or need for any. The Maple Leaf Forever!

Seek God. Ask God. Pray. Believe. Have faith. Help others have or keep their faith. Love one another. Learn to Love All.

We all have the power to stand, to concede, to think, to feel, to know the truth. We must choose. Wisdom is knowing what to do next. Then do it. Take action. One small gesture of kindness, a smile, some help, listening with respect. So powerful.
